Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal has pleaded not guilty after he was charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for altering the condition of the ball during the second Test against West Indies.

The ICC statement said, :Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal has pleaded not guilty to attempting to change the condition of the ball during the St.Lucia Test. Hearing to follow after completion of the match".

Sri Lankan players refused to take the field on day 3 of the St Lucia Test, and play was delayed by two hours after Aleem Dar and Ian Gould changed the ball and awarded five penalty runs to West Indies.

"Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal has been charged for breaching Level 2.2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct," the ICC said in a tweet.
